Zyprexa and Hyperglycemia
By: S.Burns Hyperglycemia is a rise of glucose (concentration of sugar) in one’s bloodstream. The material is created through the digestion of carbohydrates. Cells in the body combine glucose with blood oxygen to stimulate all cell processes. Insulin is a hormone secreted through the pancreas that extracts sugar from the blood and moves it into the cells. When the body becomes resistant to insulin it can’t extract the sugar and causes hyperglycemia.
